New digital sketching video
Tuesday, November 17th, 2009
Here’s a quick recording I made of me sketching the Janitor from Scrubs. It’s fun to watch these back afterwards, I always pick up on a few things I could have done differently.
I’ve been doing a lot of ‘real’ sketching recently, so it’s been good to get back into the digital stuff. Feels like all the life drawing I’ve been doing has really helped with shape and form. If you enjoy the video, watch my other digital sketching videos.

what program do you use (what are the yellow circles when you zoom in?)
and why do you show the videos already with some drawing and not a blank white screen/page

Hi Paul
It’s Sketchbook Pro. The yellow circles show the zoom and move tools when you hold the space bar. Really handy for quick zooming.
I usually don’t decide to record the sketch until I’ve already got a loose thumbnail sketch that I’m quite happy with, then I sketch over the top of it. I’ll try and remember to record the whole process next time.
